Greater Than the Parts: On Sequencing, Grouping, and Collecting Poems
Poems gathered together have a cumulative effect, and, as the saying goes, the sum is greater than the parts. In this talk and workshop, we will consider the issues involved in selecting and sequencing poems for a series or collection. We also may consider how a longer sustained poem can be written in sections.
